Conducting a Scientific Workshop

Within the framework of its ongoing academic activities, the Department of Food Science and Technology at the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences, Salahaddin University-Erbil, successfully conducted a contemporary scientific workshop titled
“Food Replacements & Substitutes”
with a high level of academic excellence.

The workshop was held in the presence of the Dean of the College (Asst. Prof. Dr. Joshan Majid), the Assistant Dean (Asst. Prof. Dr. Ayub Younis), and a significant number of specialized lecturers, researchers, and postgraduate students.

Scientific Themes of the Panel:

  • Fat and Oil Substitutes: Asst. Prof. Dr. Nabil Hussein Rasul
  • Milk Substitutes: Asst. Prof. Dr. Narin Mohamed-Amin Nanakali
  • Meat Substitutes: Dr. Ranjbar Shwan Abdulrahman (also serving as the Panel Moderator)
  • Sugar Substitutes: Mrs. Darwin Hawar Mohamed

Objectives and Importance of the Workshop:
Aligning with contemporary science and encouraging the conduction of local research that accords with global trends in food technology. Additionally, presenting innovative solutions for providing healthy food, reducing diseases, and protecting the environment.

Commendation of Academic Level and Contributions:
The workshop featured the presentation of highly valuable and engaging topics by the panel presenters, who—through their competence and high academic caliber—demonstrated the latest contemporary information and discoveries. Concurrently, the active and professional presence of a significant number of specialized faculty members and researchers, through their insightful observations and scientific discussions, enriched the flow of the panel and contributed to the complete brilliance and success of this academic activity.
