The Severe Impacts of Climate Change and the Increasing Frequency of Drought in the MENA Region and Iraq

Dr. Heman Abdulkhaleq Gaznayee, from the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences, Salahaddin University, delivered two seminars at the Department of Environmental Sciences, within the Soil and Land Management (SLM) Group, during his one-month stay as a guest researcher at Wageningen University, following an official invitation.

The seminars, entitled “The Severe Impacts of Climate Change and the Increasing Frequency of Drought in the MENA Region and Iraq,” were presented to two audiences: the first session was organized for students, and the second for academic staff and researchers of the SLM Group.

During his visit, Dr. Gaznayee also participated in five collaborative research projects with the host group, focusing on Remote Sensing and GIS applications for drought assessment, land management, and rainwater harvesting.
